Consent and Release information was sent on Friday. See this page.

Two minute survey for the bishop was sent to all parents of Confirmation students from last year in case they say anything. See the survey here.

Have you seen this page recently? It’s got some great resources for parents.

From our friends at the Guilds Office. Come here Sr. Orianne talk about technology and humanity and how using one doesn’t mean we have to lose the other. Flyer is here.

Did you miss the Fall Forum? See all the materials here. If you are missing posters, journals, etc. and would like some, you have until this Friday to let us know. Have you joined the 26 Days of Prayer? If not, catch up here.

The invitations for Hallow (free for catechists for a year) will go out in the coming weeks so that all catechists can join the Bishop and St. Carlo’s mother for a novena of thanksgiving, to be broadcast on Hallow from October 3rd to 11th (St. Carlo’s feast day is October 12th). We will use the list in Catechist 2.0 when submitted email addresses to Hallow. If you do not know how to invite catechists into LEAD, use this link to send to those not already enrolled.

Please spread the word:
On Friday, October 3, 2025, Bishop Caggiano will dedicate a shrine at the cathedral to St. Carlo Acutis. Mass begins at 7 pm. All are welcome.

Each parish and school is asked to send a delegation for this event and receive a gift from the bishop to take back to school on Monday. The bishop will bless medals for distribution to students, and the Institute for Catholic Formation will distribute bookmarks with the prayer of St. Carlo, as well as buttons for students to put on their backpacks.

If you are able to send a delegation, please email institute@diobpt.org and let us know how many items we should package for your school or parish. If any items remain, they will be made available for those parishes and schools not represented.
REFLECT

This morning’s Gospel gives us Luke’s version of one of my favorite passages in Matthew.

Jesus said to the crowd:
“No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel
or sets it under a bed;
rather, he places it on a lampstand
so that those who enter may see the light.
For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible,
and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light.
Take care, then, how you hear.
To anyone who has, more will be given,
and from the one who has not,
even what he seems to have will be taken away.”

In this parable of the lamp, we are given very clear instructions: those who have heard the Word of God are to show it to others – in word and in action.

Even when we are surrounded by darkness (perhaps especially when we are surrounded by darkness), we are to be a light for others.

This week, it might be worth asking: when people look at our lives, can they see light? Does that light direct them towards God or towards ourselves? Do we let the darkness overwhelm us? Consume us? Paralyze us?

This week, I will work on being a light. I will work on reflecting the love of God to others so that they may see the good things I do and thank God for my presence in their lives.

Will you?
