KNOW

Have you been able to sign up for the Fall Forum yet? The bishop wants to see you there! Register here. And yes, we know if you haven’t signed up.

Did you see that we have opened two satellite locations for the New England Biblical School? Check it out here and get studying! Some scholarships are available.

Pope Leo is coming (virtually) to NCYC. We have 50 tickets for the diocesan delegation. Click here for all the details, and click here to read an article. You might recognize someone’s wife who is interviewed.

Many of you said last week that you do not need buttons for the blessing of students, so we decided not to order them. We still wanted to offer you this Blessing of Students prayer for you to download. Please post photos and tag us on social media (or email them to Bill Staley) so we can showcase the great work our parishes are doing. The good news is that we will be making buttons available after the canonization of Carlo for all schoolchildren in parishes and Catholic schools.

This memo, available by clicking here, was sent to all pastors. It includes many updates, of which you are already aware, but I wanted to share them with you.

Another memo about the Annual Consent and Release will also be sent out, and it was supposed to be followed by QR codes and links that you can use for the annual consent and release. There was a slight change, so the email will come this week.

This information, available by clicking here to access the document library, was sent out last week and includes essential details about Confirmation.

All new individuals and anyone who wishes to attend are welcome to an orientation meeting at the Institute’s offices (Chancery) located at 100 Beard Sawmill Road, Shelton, CT, Suite 650, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. Please email Priscilla if you wish to attend.

From the canonization of Blessed Carlo until the dedication of the shrine at the cathedral in Bridgeport, there are 26 days. Bishop Caggiano invites everyone to follow along and participate in the 26 Days of Prayer on social media. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to participate.

Staff Update: Carmela is back this week. Bill and Patrick will be out for the canonization of Carlo Acutis from September 2 through 8th. Laura, Priscilla, and Todd are all available to answer questions, but please note that they are all part-time team members, so there may be a delay in their responses. All of them have access to the institute-at-diobpt-dot-org email address.

Check out these resources about Pope Leo XIV from our friends at Bayard Publishing.

Save the date for Nexus: Hope in the Digital Age – our annual ministry day – on October 18, 2025.

REFLECT

Almighty God, Creator of all things,
We thank you for the gift of work,
For the call to labor with our hands and minds,
And for the opportunity to participate in your ongoing creation.

We pray for all workers today:
For those who long for employment,
For those who work under challenging conditions,
For those who are underpaid and overworked,
And for those who carry burdens beyond their strength.

May our work always be for the good of others and your greater glory.
Grant us the grace to recognize your divine presence in our daily tasks,
And to act with justice, charity, and dignity in all our dealings.

In your name we pray. Amen.
