REFLECT

We are reminded in this morning’s Gospel reading from Luke that sometimes things are not as they seem. The blind man yells out for Jesus and, though everyone knows the man is blind, Jesus still asks what the man seeks.

I can just imagine the apostles muttering, “Isn’t it obvious?”

Yet, that is what prayer is – naming our needs.

If we listen carefully, I would imagine we could all hear Jesus speaking to us – amidst the chaos and the busy-ness, the frantic pace and the noise of traffic – “What is it that you seek?”

This week, let’s be sure to name our needs before our Lord.

We might be amazed at what happens.
