KNOW

Yes, it’s Tuesday, and we hope you enjoyed your long weekend. Here is what we have for you this morning:

There will be a Zoom meeting on Thursday this week at 11 am for anyone who wishes to discuss LEAD and faith formation registration. Email Carmela for the link.

Please share this invitation with anyone who was baptized at the Easter Vigil. It’s an invitation to a celebration with Bishop Caggiano.

We have been quietly working on a resource for teaching about the Mass. Take a look and let us know what you think. Our goal is to update it with handouts, quizzes, and videos this summer.

Registration is now open for World Youth Day 2027. Check out this page and spread the word.

Carmela recently sent out dates for potential deanery meetings. These meetings are for you to gather with your surrounding parishes to discuss collaborative ideas and resources. Someone from the Institute team will join each of those meetings to discuss details of diocesan renewal and the ongoing evaluation process for sacramental formation, recordkeeping, and norms. Please keep us posted when those meetings get scheduled.

At the DRE Confirmation dates meeting, Bishop Caggiano mentioned the possibility of allowing pastors to request the separation of the Sacraments of Initiation for pastoral reasons. More information will be shared with pastors in the coming weeks.

If you think there is a need for a summer Adult Confirmation class, please let us know. Email us here.

If you are interested in attending the Listen, Teach, Send Conference that the Archdiocese of Hartford is hosting with the USCCB on August 29, 2026, please email the Institute. We will pay your way, so if you register on your own, you will pay for it yourself. The conference is open to any regional diocese and their youth, young adult, family life, and ministry leaders, but I gather that the biggest pull will be from our three dioceses in Connecticut. See this flyer and this handout for more information.

The 2026-2027 calendar is here.

CONSENT AND RELEASE

If a parish is using LEAD, the consent and release are built in, and parents fill them in once per child as each child is registered.
If a parish is using Ministry Platform or OSV, they can use the attached form, which can be printed or completed online (preferred). The link is here: https://bridgeport.leadlms.com/questionnaires/166. Please copy and paste the link for your own use. You will get access to all the information, and please, for the love of all that is holy, do not copy and paste the form into your own registration.

There will be another form for event-specific/off-site events (e.g., retreats).
