KNOW

The Seton Collaborative will be hosting a FREE two-day seminar (June 17 & 18) on Executive Leadership presented by Peter Morkert from Grand Canyon University.  Topics covered include:

  • Fostering healthy work environments
  • Conflict resolution
  • Effective Communication
  • Navigating difficult conversations
  • Creating a culture of continuous improvement
  • Motivating Employees
Each topic will be viewed through the lens of faith as we seek to ensure all our work is done to bring Glory to God. The two-day event is offered free of charge and will be held at the Bishop’s residence in Trumbull.  Please RSVP to Steve Cheeseman by June 5th.

There is no face-to-face gathering this week, but all parish catechetical leaders, catechists, and youth ministers are invited to a morning of prayer, food, and music with Tony Melendez on Saturday, June 8th. All invitations were sent to catechists and parish leaders in LEAD. Please remind your catechists and volunteers to check the invitation in LEAD and respond accordingly. Space is very tight, so only the first 150 will be able to attend.

Check out the other times Tony will host a concert this weekend – all of which are open to the public.

REFLECT

Those of you fortunate enough to have attended the Mass of Thanksgiving on Saturday at Fairfield University were treated to a spectacular event. The Rosary in multiple languages, the music from our varied choirs, and the beautiful reflections all worked seamlessly to prepare the faithful for the Mass that followed.

You can read the Bishop’s homily here and read more about the event on the diocesan website. For many, though, the moment we will be talking about for months to come came after Mass had ended. The Bishop processed around the arena with the Blessed Sacrament, bringing Christ to the people. Though we had just received Our Lord in the Eucharist, there was something incredibly moving about this procession. I was sitting high enough in the stands that I could see the reaction of the faithful – the old and young falling to their knees in adoration, then leaping to their feet with raised hands as the Blessed Sacrament approached – enough to move this writer to tears.

It was moving, it was overwhelming, and it was a reminder that we are One Body in Christ, joined together in this great ministry of bringing Christ to others.

May God continue to bless our work.
